Overview
Distribution is where you work with partners: people and businesses who promote or resell your experiences to their own audience or clients, and earn a commission on the bookings they bring.
Each partner gets their own promo codes and tracked links. When a booking comes through one of them, Spotinga credits it to that partner, applies the offer to the customer, and works out the commission. You decide who can promote you, what they can offer, and what they earn.
You open Distribution from Home → Distribution.
:::info Distribution in the product editor The Distribution tab on each product controls where that product appears — your store, search and Google Things To Do. The Distribution app is the partner side of the same idea: other people selling your products for you. :::
Who your partners are
When partners join Spotinga they pick one or more roles. You see their roles in Partners, and you can search by role in Find partners.
| Role | Who they are | What usually works for them |
|---|---|---|
| Content creator | Bloggers, video makers, guide and itinerary writers | A tracked link in every post or guide; a code offer for readers |
| Influencer | People with a social audience that follows their recommendations | An exclusive discount for their followers, with a code in their name |
| Reseller | Businesses selling experiences to their own customers | A steady code or link they can use again and again, and a higher commission |
| Planner / Agent | Travel agents, event planners and agencies booking for clients or guests | A perk for guests (a free drink, an upgrade), and sharing specific products with them |
A partner can have several roles — a travel blogger who also takes group bookings is both a content creator and a planner. Roles are for your information today; the way codes, links and commission work is the same for every role.
How it works
- You open Distribution to partners and set a default commission.
- You publish offers — a discount or a perk that partners can hand to their audience.
- Partners join — by finding your experiences in Discover, from a product you share with them, or because you invite them.
- Partners share their own code and short link. The customer gets the offer at checkout.
- You see every booking each partner brings, approve the commission, and pay partners from a monthly payout.
Setting up in five steps
- Open Distribution. On the Overview, switch the toggle to Open to partners. While closed, partners cannot join or make new codes.
- Choose your commission. In Settings, set the Default partner commission (%). 10% is a common start; 0 means partners earn nothing but you still see what they sell. See Commissions & Payouts.
- Decide who can join. In Settings, Approve partners before they can promote is off by default: anyone can join and start at once, and you are told. Turn it on if you want to review each partner first.
- Write your brief. Also in Settings: a headline, what makes your experiences special and what you look for in partners. Partners see it before they join.
- Publish an offer. From Offers, create a Promo code offer — for example 10% off, or a free welcome drink. See Offers, Promo Codes & Links.
Then invite your first partners: Share an experience on the Overview, or search the directory in Find partners. See Partners.
