Overview
A partner is anyone who promotes or resells your experiences on Spotinga — a content creator, influencer, reseller, planner or agent (see Distribution: Selling Through Partners). Partners sign up once with Spotinga, and can then work with any number of operators. Your relationship with each one is managed in Distribution → Partners.
How partners reach you
There are four ways a partner ends up in your Partners list. The list shows which one, for each partner.
- Joined themselves — they found one of your experiences in Discover and clicked Promote, or joined you from your products.
- Invited by email — you shared an experience with an email address.
- Joined from a share — you shared an experience with a partner who then joined.
- Added by you — you added them from Find partners or from a pitch.
With Approve partners before they can promote off (the default), partners who join themselves can start at once and you receive a digest email of new partners — at most one an hour. With it on, they wait for you as waiting approval. Partners you invite or share with never wait.
Sharing an experience
Share an experience (on the Overview and the Partners page) points partners at one product:
- Pick the experience, and optionally an offer for their audience.
- Pick partners already working with you, or type any email address — they do not need to be on Spotinga.
- Optionally make codes for them, so the email already contains their code, short link and ready-to-post text.
Each partner gets an email and a message with a partner link: a page showing the experience, what their audience gets, and what they earn. Someone new to Spotinga can sign up from that page and lands back on the experience, ready to promote it. Email invitations are single-use and expire after 30 days.
Finding partners
Find partners searches the partner directory: partners who have chosen to be Listed. You can search by name or description, by the places they cover, and by role. Invite adds them to your partners straight away, and they can start promoting.
Partners who are not listed do not appear here — but you can still share an experience with them by email.
Roles
Each partner has one or more roles — Content creator, Influencer, Reseller, Planner / Agent. They are shown under the partner’s name, and you can filter the Partners list by role.
Partners choose and change their own roles. Partners who joined before roles existed are asked to pick them, so a few may show none for a while.
Partner status
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| active | Can make codes and links; their bookings earn commission |
| waiting approval | Joined while approval is on; waiting for you |
| invited | You invited an email address that has not accepted yet |
| paused | Temporarily not active |
| blocked | You ended the partnership. They cannot rejoin |
| declined | You declined their request to join. They cannot rejoin |
| left | They left the Spotinga partner programme. Only they can come back |
Managing a partner
From the menu on each row:
- Approve or Decline a partner waiting for approval.
- Block partner ends the partnership: their codes stop applying at checkout and their links stop earning, from now. Give a reason — it is kept for your records. A blocked partner cannot rejoin; only you can Restore them.
- Pause payments keeps a partner out of payouts (a dispute, suspected fraud) without ending the partnership. Resume payments undoes it.
- Payout details shows how the partner wants to be paid, so you can pay them. Each view is logged.
- Notes are private to your team.
:::info Earned commission is still paid Blocking a partner stops new commission. What they earned before is still owed and still appears in payouts — unless you pause their payments. :::
When a partner leaves
Partners can leave the Spotinga partner programme at any time. When they do:
- their status with you becomes left, and their codes and links stop at once;
- commission they earned before leaving is still owed to them;
- you cannot restore or re-invite them — if they come back to Spotinga, they rejoin you themselves.
A partner can also simply turn off Listed. They then disappear from Find partners, but keep working with you as before.
Good practice
- Answer quickly. New partners are most active in their first week; the Partners list marks them new.
- Share, do not just wait. A shared experience with a code already made is the fastest way to a first booking.
- Match the offer to the role. A discount code suits influencers; resellers value a steady commission; planners and agents often prefer a perk for their guests.
